Penny Auction Sites Scam – Are Penny Auctions Scams?!

There’s been a lot of hype on my local news lately about a new type of auction called Penny Auctions. People have been saying that you can purchase high ticket items like new iPhone’s, iPad’s and even laptops and T.V.’s for really really low prices. I’m talking about less than $50 for a new laptop of T.V. Being the skeptical person that I am, I figured that most of these claims were ridiculous. I thought Penny Auctions were definitely scams, but after hearing about it on my local news station I decided there might actually be something to this. I decided to sign up for a penny auction site and give it a test for myself. Here’s what happened:

I went online and looked around at the different Penny Auctions Sites. There are some that don’t seem too reputable, but there are others that look really good. I finally found a penny auction site called Bigger Bidder that was accredited by the Better Business Bureau and received a really good rating. They seemed really legitimate. I signed up for their 100+ bid pack and only had to pay $89.95 total for it. Plus I used the coupon code: 50 Free Bids and received an extra 50 FREE BIDS.

I started looking around at the different auctions currently taking place. I saw a new Sony 52 inch Television with 2 minutes left on the countdown timer, and the price was only at a low $12.34. The way these auctions work is that each time you place a bid the countdown timer increases by 10 seconds, and the price of the item increases by one cent. Essentially, you want to be the last person to place a bid on the item before the timer hits zero, and then you only have to pay for what the item price is at. I started bidding on this brand new T.V., and someone was competing against me at a pretty fierce rate.

I ended up using around 30 bids before I finally got the other guy bidding against me to stop. The price of the item was only at $12.64 now, and the timer hit zero seconds. I HAD WON! I couldn’t believe it. My first penny auction was a victory, and I only ended up paying $12.64 for a brand new Sony Television. What’s even better is that they shipped it to my house within 4 business days!

This year I’m actually excited about Christmas coming up, because I’ll be able to buy my kids and wife all the gifts they want for dirt cheap prices. I’m guessing I’ll end up spending less than $100 on all the Christmas Gifts I buy. Penny auctions really are the next big thing, but you have to make sure you sign up before everyone else does or the competition is going to go up.

Make sure you purchase a larger bid pack, I recommend going for the 100+ bid pack at a price of only $89.95. This will ensure that you have enough bids to compete with and to outbid your competition. I also recommend signing up at a reputable site like Bigger Bidder who has received great reviews from the BBB. Be sure to remember to sign up today for 50 extra free bids.

BidRivals – New Penny Auction Giant?

Lately, we’ve been researching tons and tons of penny auction sites and we’ve found a new one called BidRivals which looks like it’ll definitely be a new favorite. There’s been tons of people who’ve been hearing about the site and their member base is growing steadily.

This has allowed them to add even more cool products all of which you can purchase for insanely low prices, these products include iPods, PS3′s, toy helicopters, digital SLR cameras, gift cards, high priced perfumes and colognes, and even Blackberry phones!

With tons of hype and a TV commercial for BidRivals, it’s clear that the amount of members is going to continue to soar! What does this mean for you? Well, the more members there are on a site, the more competition.

So the time is NOW to signup with BidRivals and take advantage of all the cool auctions they have. With a little bit of patience, you too can win an amazing product for a low price, you just have to stick to your guns and be actively searching for new auctions. Once you find an auction you like, stay right by your computer and let the bidding begin! Be diligent and take the time and you’ll be able to win anything you want, whether it’s a new laptop or a video game system.

As you check out these sites, you’ll notice that under many of the products people win, you will see the highest bidders. On the website, you get to see the Top 3 last bidders. What you’ll begin to notice is that many of the auctions which have won have the same names under them, these are the people that were aggressively bidding for the product and these are the people that eventually won. Persistence is KEY in the penny auctions game, you just have to be focused on what you want and with practice you’ll get better at it. Make sure when you start, you purchase a lot of bids, we recommend getting at least 250-300 bids to start so that you are sure to have enough bids to really have a chance to outbid the other bidders.

What you really have to do is sign up now and take advantage of this special time where it’s easy as pie to win many of the auctions online right now.

Bigger Bidder Review – Warning: Does Bigger Bidder Work?

I’ve received a lot of emails since I started up this blog about a penny auction site that’s been getting a lot of attention in the media recently. This particular penny auction site is called Bigger Bidder and it’s geared towards customers from the United States. The site claims to help you get the newest products (perfumes, jewelery, electronics) for really cheap prices… usually under $20. I’ve used other penny auction sites in the past and had some good results, but I wanted to test out bigger bidder and see just how good it was…

I signed up for the Bigger Bidder 100+ bid package and used the bonus code: 50 Free Bids for an extra 50 free bids. A lot of people go for the high ticket electronics — like iPhone’s, iPods, and T.V.’s — (usually I do too) but I’ve been meaning to buy a brand new digital camera so that’s what I was searching for. One of the auctions I came across was for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 camera which sells for $500 in stores ( I know because I was looking around for one). There was still 3 minutes left in the auction but the price was only at $11. I waited a bit until the timer was nearly done, 20 seconds left, and at that point the price was $15. Then I started placing my bids… I placed about 35 bids before the timer finally counted down to 0 and I was the last one to place a bid! I guess I scared off my competition hahah.

Then the typical “Congratulations!” message came up telling me I was the winner. I was pretty ecstatic knowing that’d I’d just gotten myself one of the best camera’s for under $50!

Bigger Bidder shipped the item to my house within the next week (6 business days) and everything worked perfectly. Now I’m busy running around the house snapping photos, I’ll try and post some of them up for you guys to take a look at.

Anyway I’m really happy with the service Bigger Bidder provides, and I find it really easy to win auctions on their site. It’s too bad you have to live in the United States  to sign up, but other than that, they are probably the best penny auction site out there right now. They have a bunch of the best brand new products and there really isn’t too much competition that you have to deal with. I honestly recommend you give them a try if you haven’t already.

People who say Bigger Bidder is a scam just don’t know what they’re doing. I’m thinking of giving out tutorials on penny auctions soon, so stay tuned and check my blog often!

BidCactus Reviews – BidCactus Is Officially EXPOSED

I recently tested out a new penny auctions site called BidCactus and I wanted to stop you guys from signing up with them because you’ll NEVER win anything.  I actually bought over 300 bids with them and I started bidding on a couple of gift cards I wanted. Nothing fancy, just gift cards. Usually with other penny auction sites I’m able to win gift cards really really easy.  This definitely was not the case with BidCactus. I don’t know why there was so much competition for $50 Gift Cards, it just seemed like everyone was bidding against me…

Then I found out that BidCactus is one of the most mainstream penny auction sites. Which means that they get so much traffic that you barely stand a chance of winning anything (unless you’re ready to fight tooth and nail to win).

In terms of products, BidCactus doesn’t even have many. Most of their products are $50-$100 gift cards, and not actual expensive electronics.

So, I hope you guys read my review and take it to heart. Steer Clear of Bidcactus!

Use BidRivals or BidSauce instead as the competition on those sites is really low, and its amazingly easy to win auctions. Not to mention they have a hell of a lot more products than BidCactus does.

BidUS Review – Is BidUS Just A Scam? Find Out Now!

When I first signed up for the penny auction site called BidUS I was impressed by the amount of gift cards and electronics they had listed, and it looked like the auctions were going for a low price (under $20 for a new iPhone).

Instead of following my own advice and purchasing a larger bid pack (better chances of winning), I chose to opt in for 50 bids which ended up costing me around $40. Most of the time I’ll buy bigger bid packages, but something told me that I should do a small test with BidUS and see what happens.

The weird thing is that I started bidding against people when there was only 15-20 seconds left in the auction, and each and every auction I tried to win, the people always kept placing more bids when there was just 2 or 3 seconds left on the clock. I couldn’t win! This was nothing like my favorite penny auction sites –> Bigger Bidder and BidRivals, it seemed so difficult to actually win anything with BidUS.

The possibility that BidUS might be using internal bid software crossed my mind, but I quickly realized that they could get in really big trouble for that. I decided that the reason I wasn’t winning anything is because I didn’t get enough bids to start off with. I re-upped my bids and bought 250.

I then went back to trying to win some hot new electronics I wanted. Unfortunately, things wouldn’t be so easy… I spent hours trying to win something and I just couldn’t do it, people would continuously bid against me at the last second. Eventually I did end up winning an iPod Touch before I used up all my 250 bids. I could have went to the store and bought that very same iPod for the same price (and I wouldn’t have had to wait a week for delivery).

There are some great penny auction sites out there, but BidUS just isn’t one of them. If you’re looking for penny auction sites that actually deliver the goods and are easy to win at, read my review on Bigger Bidder and BidRivals.

MadBid Scam – EXPOSED: MadBid.com Review!

An international penny auction site called Madbid has been pretty much taking people’s money and selling them the hopes of getting a discount on brand new products. Unfortunately, rarely does that hope actually turn into the reality of actually winning anything with them. I tested them out myself, and was really disappointed by how hard it was to win anything on their site.

I bought a lot of bids, and then went auction hunting. When I came across products I wanted I’d try to use the very same strategies that keep me winning on other penny auction sites like BidRivals, but on MadBid.com they just wouldn’t work! People would start bidding against me at the last second, and after awhile I started to wonder whether or not they were using software of some sort.

I did manage to win one product (a new home stereo system), but when it came to delivering it I had to wait over a month and continuously harangue the MadBid customer service department to send it… which by the way, was pretty awful.

I’m definitely upset with the MadBid level of service, the products they have, and how hard it is to win any auctions. It’s really not worth your time to be using them as a penny auction site when there are other great ones out there.  If you’re looking for a penny auction site that actually works really well then checkout BidRivals! Those guys are 100X better than Madbid.com

Wavee Review – Why Wavee Isn’t Worth Using!

One site that stuck out to me when I was searching for new penny auction sites to try out is called Wavee.  On their site they say that you can find the best products for as much as 90% off. They also say that they’re a member of the ADTC – Advanced Technology Development Center – whatever that means.  I did my usual tests to determine whether they were a penny auction site I’d stick with, or whether I’d just continue using the few excellent ones I’m using now.  The fact of the matter is that it’s always better to have a couple of great penny auction sites to choose from (so I usually keep 200+ bids in 2 or 3).  So, I tested out Wavee and here’s what I found out:

I’ll give you my opinion of Wavee straight up, as I don’t feel like dragging this blog post on too long (I have new products to go bid on).  They aren’t the greatest penny auction site to use. In fact, I was only able to win one item from them after using 250 bids, whereas with other sites like BidSauce and BidRivals I usually manage to win 4-5 really hot products with that many bids.

As with a lot of other penny auction sites, I think the main problem with Wavee is that there’s still a lot of competition for the good products.  You’ll find it hard to enter an ‘easy’ auction on their site, as 95% of the auctions you enter with them will be difficult to win.

For those reasons I won’t be buying more bids right now with Wavee.

I’m just going to stick with BidRivals and BidSauce for now and try to get as many new products as possible from those sites.

Using just BidSauce I’ve managed to win Macbook’s, Desktop Computers, 54 inch FlatScreen T.V.’s, and iPad’s all for less than a total of $600 altogether. The competition on that site is ridiculously easy, so there’s no need for me to use a site like Wavee right now.

Plundr.com Review – Is Plundr Another Scam?!

With all the penny auction sites you can choose from, it’s definitely challenging to figure out which ones you should sign up with. Here’s a little friendly advice from me though, don’t sign up with Plundr if you actually want to win any products. I found it really hard to win anything using their website, and they didn’t even have a great selection of products to begin with.

The whole reason I ended up trying Plundr is because I saw some advertisements for their bidding platform online. But after spending some bids with them, I’m guessing they either have bots bidding or the competition is just really sneaky and always waits until the last second to bid.

There are much better penny auction sites that you can sign up with that are actually legitimate, so there’s no need for you to sign up with these guys, as you’ll probably end up just like me with 0 bids left and no products to show for them.

Penny Auction Strategy – Basic Strategy For Penny Auctions

I wanted to write a brief post on how you should be going into penny auctions. A lot of people out there think that it’s all luck and that there’s no skill involved… These are the same people that are spending money on bids and then claiming it’s all a big scam. If they only knew some basic strategy for participating in these auctions, they’d probably be singing a completely different tune. In this post I’m just going to over some things real quick, and I’ll write up more detailed strategies in later posts…

It’s best to think of penny auctions as a game that involves some luck and some skill. If you’re looking for something similar I’d say Poker has some of the key elements of penny auctions incorporated in it.

One of the first things you should take into consideration is that you need to start off with a larger amount of bids. If you buy less than 200 bids, you’re probably going to have a hard time taking out your competition. The same rule applies in poker; if you have a small chip stack, you’re probably going to get eaten alive by the competition. The difference here is that you can’t see how many bids your competitor has, and they can’t see how many you have.

So how do you let people really know you want a product?

You wait until the last possible second left in the auction and then you drop a whole bunch of bids on it (usually 5-15). This lets people know that you’re serious about getting this product.

The next thing you should do is always set an amount of bids you’re willing to use to get a product and try and stick within that.  If you set your maximum amount of bids for a new iPhone 4 at 40 bids, then don’t go over that amount. Penny auctions take discipline, and that’s why a lot of people end up using more bids on products than they should.

One more rule I have is to never start bidding on a product until the time left in the auction is below 30-50 seconds. There’s no point bidding on products before that.

I’ll have more tips and strategies coming soon, but I have to cut this post short. Check back in a couple of days for more information!

Beatle Bids Review – Is Beatle Bids The Next Big Penny Auction Site?

One penny auction site that’s been around for a little while is called Beatle Bids. Some people sent me some reviews on this site and told me to stay away from it… They felt that they were being cheated using Beatle Bids. I needed to test it out so that I could put a review up for it on this blog.

After trying Beatle Bids over a two week period with 300-500 bids, I can say that you should definitely stay away from this penny auction website!

I was only able to win one gift card worth $100 after using up all my 300-500 bids in auctions. They might be using Bots to place bids when the timer almost runs out, or there is just a lot of competition. I did some research and found out that they have a huge amount of people using their bid platform, so what I experienced was probably just natural competition.

The delivery of the one gift card I won took a long time, nearly a month before it arrived. So I was pretty pissed about that too.

Beatle Bids is a penny auction site that you should stay away from! Use one of my top rated sites instead.
